Brighton-based singer-songwriter blending country and pop-rock influences has garnered acclaim for her captivating live performances and songwriting.
Gina Larner Biography
Hailing from Brighton, Gina Larner is a singer-songwriter known for her unique blend of country and pop-rock, drawing inspiration from legends like Fleetwood Mac, KT Tunstall, Lily Allen, and Kacey Musgraves.
She has graced the stage with iconic figures like KT Tunstall and Ronan Keating at renowned venues like the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Gina has also shared the spotlight on UK tours alongside Emily Capell, Ryan Hamilton, and Sound of the Sirens, the latter of whom made waves at The British Country Music Festival in 2023.
At just eight days old, life was touch and go for Gina, resulting in an operation to remove a lung. At age six, Gina’s mother sent her to singing lessons to develop her strength, resulting in a lifelong relationship with music. She was surprised by Jeremy Vine on BBC Radio 2, meeting the doctor who performed her operation.
The depth of Gina’s musical prowess is unmistakable in her material and performances, a testament to her graduation with first-class honours in music. This showcases the depth of expertise she brings to her craft.
“I sing and write Americana and country pop. People often see the pink hair and assume punk, but I’ve just loved Americana and country since I was a kid – I really like Stevie Nicks, KT Tunstall and Kacey Musgraves and I listen to a bit of Dolly Parton too.”
“I’ve been writing for a long time, ….the 14 year-old me did not write bangers… hopefully, the 24-year-old me is writing better songs. I like to think my writing is very honest,…. that’s what I aim for.”
