Laura Oakes is an established artist on the British country music scene. In addition to her usual gigs, Laura has established her ‘Laura Oakes hosts’ live show.

Laura Oakes Biography

Since Laura’s live night was established at the Green Note, Camden in 2018 we’re glad to say the night has continued traction throughout the pandemic via the magic of radio. In the depths of lockdown Laura was able to resurrect her live night for a live session which featured 2 x artists; Ward Thomas and Kerri Watt for a multi artist, acoustic round where each act was able to talk through the stories of their songs and perform them to an attentive audience. Thereafter I’m glad to say the show has been commissioned (future episode to come shortly including The Shires) as a regular series on the wonderful Chris Country Radio.

To give you a flavour of the show please take a listen to the abridged version of the pilot featuring Ward Thomas and Kerri Watt. Obviously live would be much more fluid and not edited. Plus, it’s a super streamlined set up in regards to tech involving just a couple of vocals mics and DI’s for the guitars.

For an idea of Laura’s solo, acoustic calibre live check out her performance of ‘Learn To Be Lonely Again’ filmed over to Bob Harris’ house!
